I have a pet Cat, and I have had tuns of dogs. My family use to breed dogs. I have had birds, snakes, hamsters, and so much more over my life time. One thing about all of them is, They make me wonder! What are they thinking, why do they react like that when I do this, Why do they--when I, How did they, and why won't they-- when I want them to? Yes they have a mind of their own. But why and what makes them do what they do? Tell us your story. What did your pet do to make you wonder?
I got my cat from the pound when she was two and one half months old. I picked her because when I whent in to the room that the cats stayed in, she put her paw threw the bars and reachd out to me for a long time trying to get me to pay attenchen to her. When we took her out, she pered and rubbed her face all over ours. I knew I had to take her home. She is now almost six months. Her birth day is ST. Pactricks day. March 17, 2008. My favorit day of the year and 8 my favorit number. neet hun! She does things every day that makes me wonder. Her birthday was the start of them all.
We adopted our cat from a vetrinary blood bank. When he was much younger, he would only attack one of my braille magazines. That was popular mechanics. He'd sniff other braille books, but if I had Popular Mechanics laying on the floor, he'd run to it, do a belly flop, flip open the book, and move his paws across the pages like he knew exactly what he was reading. He'd purr enthusiastically the entire time.

that is so vute!
What I find odd, is it wasthat only magazine.
Advent used to be a bully when we got him from the blood bank, so I'm wondering if he were a carpenter or something in a previous life.

My kitten Ali likes chasing the end of my cane. I was using my cane because tehre were no banisters on Nan and Grandad's stairs when I was in Syprus. The only trouble is, Ali kept chasing my cane and getting under my feet.
the chasing the cane thing i can understand in cats, but the michanics mag? maybe your cat liked the smell of the paper or chemicals they used in the production of that particular publication? as for running his paws over the braille, maybe he liked the feel of the braille beneath his pads. who's to say animals don't do things just for pure pleasure. i've heard of bears who've played with the toes of their hind paws just for the sheer pleasure of it.
Ali is funny when she plays with ice cubes, because she touches it with her paw then quickly takes it away again, probably wondering, what's that freezing cold thing.
Sometimes I wonder what animals dream. Shadow used to be a stray before someone turned him into our local animal shelter. He must have had a hard time of it: when he came to the shelter, I was told he was extremely malnourished, even had a couple cuts on his tongue like he'd tried to eat something out of an open can. Sometimes, when he'd sleep, he'd start making these really pitiful meowing noises. Or he'd jerk awake with a really startled meow, and cry till he found me to pet him. I wondered if he was dreaming of his time as a stray, or what. I always felt so bad for him. But as soon as he'd wake up and get petted, he'd start purring like crazy. I know cats sometimes purr when they're frightened, as well as when they're happy. I always wondered if that purr was fear from whatever dreams he'd had, happiness to be petted, or both.
